These are some of my favorite ways to gift sourdough breads and cinnamon rolls. Sourdough makes a great gift because it is a consumable item, healthier than traditional sweets or candy and can be made in so many different ways! In the video below I show you some different ideas for gifting sourdough breads for any season of the year.
Bake your sourdough bread, cinnamon rolls, muffins or cookies. It’s easiest to bake a whole bunch in one day.
Freeze the bread or cookies once they reach room temperature if baking ahead of time. If freezing cinnamon rolls, do not add the frosting until right before gifting. Just thaw the rolls, warm slightly in the oven and add the frosting.
For Sourdough Bread:
Wrap each loaf in a paper bread bag or beeswax wrap bread bag. Close tightly and seal with a sticker or twisty tie.
For Cinnamon Rolls or Cookies:
Place in a cake box, and decorate the lid as desired, or add an appropriate tag (see printable tags below). You can also place cinnamon twists or snowflakes in the center of a large piece of cellophane. Gather the cellophane up around the item and tie it with curling ribbon. Curl the ends of the ribbon with scissors and add a tag as desired.
Add some homemade butter or jam to bread, and give to your friends and family for any occasio
Notes
To make your gift of bread extra special, try making some flavored butter to go along with it and place it all in a bread basket. Some of my favorites are cinnamon honey butter, butter mixed with fresh herbs or a garlic scape butter. Homemade jams and jelly are a perfect gift to give with a freshly baked loaf of bread. I like to make mine in the summertime when fruit is readily available, and then it’s all ready to give as a gift any time of the year.
