  • Cherry pie filling 
  • Cream cheese
  • Sugar
  • Vanilla extract

How to Make Sourdough Cherry Danishes

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. 

Cut the puff pastry dough into squares.

Fold the corners of each square in towards the center.

Mix the cream cheese and sugar together in a small bowl.

In the middle of each piece of dough, spread the fruit filling or the cream cheese filling, or use some of both in the center of each danish.

Mix 1 egg and 1 Tablespoon of water together to make an egg wash.  Brush on the top of the pastry with a pastry brush.  This step is optional, but will give the dough a glossy golden brown look once baked.

Place on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.

Mix up the powdered sugar and milk in a small bowl.

Drizzle over freshly the baked danish pastries.

You can refrigerate these in an airtight container for up to a week or freeze them in a freezer- safe container for up to six months.

  • 1 parchment paper
  • 1 Rolling Pin
  • 1 Spatula
  • 1 Pizza Cutter
  • 1 Small bowl for mixing up filling optional
  • 1 Pastry brush
