Benefits of Bone Broth
It’s no secret that chicken noodle soup has been served to the sick for centuries to help heal sickness, and this is all because of one main ingredient: bone broth. Bone broth is rich in collagen, amino acids, vitamins, and minerals from the connective tissues found in the animal bones. It promotes a healthy gut microbiome, and supports your overall health. How to Make This Bone Broth Hot Chocolate
In a medium pan on a stovetop, heat the broth and milk over medium heat.

Once heated, whisk in the cocoa and maple syrup until it’s fully dissolved.

Then add cinnamon and salt.
Remove from the stove and blend or froth until velvety, this step is optional.
Enjoy in your favorite mug with a homemade marshmallow.

Tips
- It’s best if you don’t use broth that has been made with a lot of extra herbs in it, because you’ll be able to taste the herbs in the hot chocolate, and they don’t pair well with the savory flavor of herbaceous bone broth. Regular broth with salt is delicious, but if you add lots of sage and other herbs to your broth, don’t use it for hot cocoa.
- Blending it makes it so frothy and delicious
- To make this dairy-free, use coconut milk, almond milk, or soy milk.
- If you want to add a fun pepperminty twist, add some peppermint extract along with a peppermint candy cane.
- Always add a tiny bit of salt to anything that has vanilla in it, because it will bring out the flavor of the vanilla.
- Keep a batch of homemade marshmallows on hand to enjoy this delicious hot cocoa anytime.
