Ingredients

  • Lemon juice or grape juice - I prefer fresh squeezed lemon juice because of it's natural citric acid content, but if I don't have any on hand I just use whatever juice I have.  Grape juice works just fine and I usually have it in my pantry because we grow our own grapes.
  • Coconut Water - this really helps with rehydrating the body.  You can't taste it, but it adds a lot of health benefits to the drink.  If you don't have any coconut water on hand, you can just omit it.
  • Sugar - I prefer to use a natural sweetener such as cane sugar or brown sugar, but white sugar will work fine too. You could also use maple syrup or pure honey.
  • Salt - I prefer Redmond salt which has lots of vitamins and essential minerals in it.  Sea salt is fine too.  This is part of the electrolytes and will help the body rehydrate
  • Fresh or frozen fruit - I just throw in whatever fruit I have and it gives the gatorade a nice flavor.
  • Water
